We’re a third of the way into the season, bye weeks are kicking in and your terrible bench is finally being exposed. Don’t fret, you’re not alone. But there are some steals available on waivers that might give you a much-needed boost.
Corey Davis, WR, TEN – Owned in 29.4% of leagues
Am I basing this off of one game? Yes. But, boy was it a game. He’s coming off of an injury, so there’s some definite risk here, but the kid’s got upside like no other.
Ed Dickson, TE, CAR – Owned in 44.0% of leagues
At 30 years old, Dickson managed to have one of the top games by a tight end in NFL history. With fantasy dynamo Greg Olsen out long-term, Dickson is looking like he might be a top TE option going forward.
Rex Burkhead, RB, NE – Owned in 13.0% of leagues
No one likes a Patriots RB. No one. But Burkhead is an oft-targeted back on a team that is becoming desperate for wide receivers. He’s also coming off of injury but should be good to go in the coming weeks.
Andre Ellington, RB, ARI – Owned in 52.4% of leagues
On the surface, this might seem crazy. J.J. Nelson and John Brown are healthy again and the Cardinals just traded for Adrian “Has To Be Washed Up” Peterson. But that shouldn’t stop you from looking Ellington’s way. He’s got crazy speed, has put up multiple double-digit point games this year and is a change of pace back in an offense that needs, well, a change of pace. Despite Carson Palmer’s 18 vertical passes in Week 5, he’s still going to have plenty of need for his go-to check-down guy, Ellington.
Jared Goff, QB, LAR – Owned in 21.1% of leagues
Don’t look now, but the Los Angeles Rams are… decent. After finishing 2016 with just four wins, they are currently 3-2 and are riding the backs of Todd Gurley and Jared Goff to pretty solid wins along the way. Goff might not be the most consistent QB, but he’s a strong backup option to have on your bench, capable of putting up big numbers in spot duty.
